To address the current challenges and future prospects of Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCU/S), the think tank cooperation component of the Sino-German Energy Partnership, EnTrans, published a report on “Facilitating China’s Industrial Transformation with CCU/S ” in 2023. The report provides an overview of the development of CCU/S technologies in the international, European, and German contexts and offers recommendations for CCU/S carbon reduction measures in key industrial sectors in China. The EnTrans team gathered insights through interviews and seminars with Chinese experts. Over the past year, both Europe and China have introduced new policies and advanced practices in CCU/S technology. To further explore these developments, the EnTrans project team will host the “Sino-German Carbon Capture and Utilization/Storage Workshop” on 3 December 2024. We warmly invite relevant organizations to participate in this event, where we will discuss the latest advancements and the potential of CCU/S technologies in reducing emissions.
