China and Germany strengthen exchange on green hydrogen standards and market development
International Forum on Green Hydrogen Standards and Markets
Green hydrogen plays a crucial role in addressing climate change. However, creating sustainable hydrogen value chains presents numerous challenges. These include establishing a comprehensive policy and standard framework, constructing physical infrastructure, matching supply with demand, and developing products and procedures for trade. On March 27th, the International Forum on Green Hydrogen Standards and Markets took place alongside the China Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Expo 2024 in Beijing. Joined by representatives of the German Embassy and the NEA, the forum provided a platform for experts from Europe and China to exchange on recent developments in China, Europe, and internationally, regarding the standardisation and trade of green hydrogen and its derivatives.
GIZ and the China Hydrogen Alliance co-hosted the event under the framework of the BMWK-commissioned Sino-German Energy Partnership. The exchange once again highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation between China and Germany in the energy and climate fields to jointly find solutions to the pressing climate challenges of today.
